ESL Classes

Picture2Picture1ESL Classes

Our partnership with Evangelical Formosan Church (EFC) has provided the members of Trinity Pacific Church the exciting opportunity of volunteering as ESL teachers.  English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for new immigrants provide not only the opportunity to learn and practice English language skills, but also provide insight into Canadian customs, holidays, and Canadian life in general.

The eagerness to learn and the obvious enthusiasm of the students makes these classes a delight to participate in.  We have fun practicing English vocabulary and grammar as we learn about filling out medical forms or cook Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner entrees or go on scavenger hunts in Steveston.

Once per month we host a Conversation Café where we break into smaller groups to discuss relevant and thought-provoking questions in English.

ESL classes are  on Monday mornings from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm and can be joined at any time through the school year.  New students are always welcome, as are volunteers who want to come out encourage English language skills and build relationships with neighbours and friends new to Canada.

If you are interested in attending an ESL class, contact EFC through their Facebook site https://www.facebook.com/VancouverEFC

If you are interested in joining our TPC teachers to help teach the ESL classes, we need volunteers! Contact us through the church office at 604-275-0111 or by email at [email protected].
